Oh no, the Mafia’s here

A stranger wearing a trilby wanted a word in my ear. He whispered ‘go to the Cumberland bar, order your cider, look over to the far side and you will see the suspect.

Dear blipper. I think you’ll recognise him. It’s only the Godfather (when he was young). He doesn’t know I’m on the case. He’s having a bubbly while keeping a wily eye on the guests.

We’ll make a quick exit while the sun’s shining. Just in case there’s a shoot-out. You never know. But at least now I know where to find him.

Thanks to hobbs (Moody Mono “MMN19”) and skeena (“Film Noir”) for their monthly challenge. And to Merril Hope-Brown for Mono Monday’s ‘Work Rest & Play’

(The barman’s at work, we’re at play. Marlon over there’s resting while he can).
