The Wallace Monument and Dumyat

Taken from Stirling Riverside. 
Given that Stirling is slap bang in the middle of Scotland, it did catch me a bit when I discovered that there used to be a serous harbour on the Forth at Stirling. The river is still tidal so it would be small vessels only and the river is so windy that it must have taken ages to get out into more open waters.
As you can see from the photo, it has been a beautifully bright and sunny day but bitterly cold.
