Harvesting

For the past few weeks machines have been cutting down trees on our property.....Terry has such mixed feelings about this, but it was his decision to go ahead with this plan.   He's lived on this land for almost 50 years....has cultivated the forest, taken care of it....and planted many trees.  But the time was right for him to take some action, cutting down some of the trees that were dying or dead!    This will allow an opportunity for new growth in the future.   Even knowing it is for the future health of this part of the forest, it is painful to see the mess it creates.   It is also offering us new vistas over the highlands....so as usual, mixed feelings!
