Warm Light, Cold Day

Although my first instinct was to shoot a wider scene with the veiled sun in the sky, I became more interested in the soft rose coloured light on the still open patches of calm water. It really was very nice to just stand there and take it all in.

I had to raise the exposure of the foreground and along the shoreline because I had shot for the highlights and I'm very pleased how that came out. Even so there's the sense of looking out from the shadow of a tree to the brighter water beyond.
