Poble Sec, Barcelona

Back Blip

Wandered around the barrio of Poble Sec tonight. Poble Sec is a Barcelona neighborhood that forms part of the Sants-Montjuic district. Its name means "dry village" in Catalan, and it was called this because it initially had no water supply and the first fountain wasn't installed until 1894. Today, it's a lively area with a real barrio feel and lots of street life, restaurants, bars and corner shops. It's just a 20 min stroll from Las Ramblas (bang in the centre of Bcn) but there aren't as many tourists here. We like it!
