A success

This was made by my mother, probably as a child. A long time ago I dropped it and it's been sitting in many pieces for perhaps ten years. Finally I mustered up the courage to try to mend it: if you get it wrong then there's no real hope to fix it.

This is the result just after scraping off the surplus Araldite and bits of stuck-on rubber band and paper (that's the crud surrounding it). It will always be obvious that it's been mended and the area where it hit the floor is pretty approximate, but I'm pretty pleased with the result overall: it will be as useless as it ever was (it's really an ashtray I think, which is no use to us).
