A wonderful trip today to Penguin Island near Rockingham in Western Australia. The island is a bird sanctuary, with so many amazing birds. If you're into birds or bird photography it's close to the city, and easy to get to. I've added a couple of extras - a little blue or fairy penguin (NZ is little blue, Australia is Fairy penguin), and a breeding pair of crested tern, part of a breeding colony on the island. There was a large group of young and adults on the beach, with the adults feeding at sea and bringing food back to the young. There are also boats taking people to see dolphins, sea lions, and there's a glass bottom boat for checking out the underwater world.
