Mt Hutt .....

......

view from the lower Chairlift

I thoroughly enjoyed a visit to Mt Hutt with Nature Photographic Society, with grand views and tiny critters. We had some very knowledgable botanists with us, which helped tremendously with plant identification.

This scene would show a view out over the Canterbury plains, if it wasn't for the fog. We had to drive through it, on our way down, sometimes only crawling along at 10kmp. The edge of the road was hard to see, but it was far easier where there were rails.

I found some grasshoppers which weren't always willing subjects. I'm trying to get an ID on the one in Extras. I think it may be Sigaus Australis, but I'm waiting for confirmation.
