A patient sit in.

One of our annual tasks is cutting back the vine in the conservatory which Cathleen usually does.    But as I was at home today I was roped in to help.

This requires taking away a lot of greenery and getting down to a couple of main stems which , in about three months time, will start to produce the smallest of buds.

After they open growth is rapid and by next June there will be big bunches of grapes  hanging from vast amounts of foliage.

Cutting back always reveals a few surprises, including this little wooden parrot which we got somewhere ages ago and  clipped on to a branch.

It has held own patient , shaded, sit in since then.
