Ropeneck and pup

Probably the most famous seal on the beach. 12 years ago this cow came up to pup and had lots of fishing wire digging into her neck. The warden and 5 others sat on her, cut off the wires and gave her antibiotics and named her Ropeneck! She went on to have a healthy pup and has returned very year since to pup on the same bit of beach. She is a great favourite of the visitors.  Today there were about 9,000 visitors and I couldn't begin to count how many people asked me "where is Ropeneck?"!
It was however a very, very grey day and so  I thought a black and white photo appropriate for the day.
