JIT Roses

Having worked in logistics for over 25 years I have never been more impressed with how smoothly this leviathan of a distribution centre functions. "Just On Time" is a practice used by all large distributors these days, it means goods arrive just as you need them. Everything is predicted and expected as predicted ….to the minute. Before any shelf is empty a resupply is on the way, when the resupply is nearly empty a lorry arrives - simple but tricky to pull off. Any hiccup in the flow and you won't have goods, and then you have staff doing nothing, then when it does arrive you don't have the staff, space or transport as they have all gone. I can clearly see the chaos that any kind of customs checking would do to this business that supplies over a million Danes  - disaster.
