OLD JAZZ?

Actually she's not so old as she looks - been seriously maltreated. In fact she's a "Manouche" -  this is the French term for a Django Reinhardt type guitar.

She has four serious cracks in the table - look carefully & you'll see a couple of them.

So far I've done a job on the fingerboard which looks like ebony, but is in fact stained pearwood which shrinks like crazy in low humidity. The frets were all sticking out wickedly & I filed them back down into smooth submission so you don't slash your fingers as you slide up the neck!..

Next I superglued wee supports under the cracks to discourage them from growing - also to hold the two sides level.

Tomorrow comes the hard bit!
