It's all relative.

17.47 sec was the fastest length I swam this evening, which I think was fast. Enough for me at least.
If you have 17.37 sec to defuse a bomb, 17.47 sec is long. Too long.
If you are on a 12 hour flight to the other side of the world 17.47 sec is nothing. A fragment of nothingness in a 12 hour slot of nothingnesses. (or is it nothingnessi?)
If you are somewhere where you belong 17.47 sec can contain infinity.
