Striking Cloudscape

It's been a pretty soggy day, but there was a let-up around lunchtime, so I went off on my bike over to Bartlow. The clouds were just parting enough to let a few rays of sun through from time to time. But mostly, it stayed grey and blustery and wet. When the clouds parted, it was amazing to see the layers on layers. No wonder it was so grey down here!

I was inspecting the river at Bartlow again, thinking all this rain would have set off the surface flow - but no, it's still just a dry bed with a few puddles, even though the small streams coming down along the fields are all gushing. The water table at the river is so low that it all just soaks in. Shocking.
