The Koalas

While reading of the fate of the koalas today in the bush fires as well as in the past, when they were hunted in the millions, I suddenly remembered that I had a little toy koala clinging to the rear view mirror in my car. The little creature has been there guarding me for years, and I had not even looked at him.

This is in memory of Ellenborough Lewis rescued from the burning tree by the brave lady a few days ago. I was so hoping that Lewis would have made it, but he didn't.  And I hope that his and many other koala's deaths will result in water being provided for the suffering animals now as well as new forests being planted as soon as possible.
