Here be dragons...

Today was spent at Dragon Hall in Norwich, where the National Centre for Writing is based. It's a 15th century building, with remains of a Saxon building in its undercroft, which makes it one of the oldest in the city. Built by a wealthy merchant as the Guild Hall of the Guild of St George, the building has been subdivided into dwellings, been a pub, and been the vicarage for the nearby church of St Julian (home of the famous medieval anchoress who was one of the first women to author a book in English). There are fragments of Victorian wallpaper in the Great Hall (see extra).

It has been beautifully and sensitively updated (including wifi - see extra for the wifi code, which amused me!) and makes an amazing training venue. (The course was very good too, when I could tear my eyes away from the building!)
