Keeping the old crafts going

We managed a quick visit to Farfield Mill to see the exhibitors before lunch to celebrate friend A's birthday. A couple of ladies from the South Lakeland Lace Makers were demonstrating their skills. I would find this project impossible. I can manage crochet because it has just one stitch.  How she manages with all those bobbins I just don't know. Was also pleased to see a chap making beautiful rugs out of the selvedge cut off from Harris Tweed cloth made on the Isle of Lewis. (extra) The strips previously went to landfill. The rugs were  wonderfully thick and soft. I took his leaflet "Gneiss rugs" I can see I may end up with a few.
