If you can't beat them...

Lochrin Basin Edinburgh

Another relaxing tourist type day.  In beautiful weather we strolled with KKK & G to Morningside.  Then along the road to Bruntsfield, where KKK wanted to do some shopping.  We intended to have lunch in the vegan café, as KKK is intolerant to dairy she can be sure with a vegan meal there is no dairy hidden in there.

Unfortunately the place was packed so we settled for coffee and cake in Costa's before strolling back along the Union Canal.  The reflections in Lochrin Basin were beautiful so as we passed over the Leamington lift bridge we took some shot.

It is good to see the canal thriving as until the millennium it had been cut off from the rest of the Union Canal.  The lost section was restored as one of the projects to mark the turn of the millennium.  While the canal is not as busy as the English canals it is good to see boats and the waterway thriving.
