From an exhibition called "The Beautiful Stitch"

- on show in the Bucks Museum. The exhibit is by the Embroiderer's Guild. 

This example is from a 18th century William Morris hanging, made from cotton and linen with loosely twisted silk threads.

I felt it fitted todays title, Traditional, but a skill which is still carried out by some crafts people.
