Good taste

The National Trust can be relied upon to bring simplicity and good taste to Christmas decorations.

Here in its tea rooms at Sizergh Castle you can find simple and attractive decorations.

Start with a circular piece of paper. Make one cut from the edge to the centre then fold about eight times. Glue or staple the endpieces together and do some snipping down the ridges.

Garnish with the simplest little string of led lights.

Cheap and understated but delightful seasonal decoration.
