Quarr Abbey

In the late afternoon sun the bricks of Quarr Abbey shone in the light. I took my visitors to tea here after their long journey. The serenity and simplicity of the abbey inside is testament to its designer, Dom Paul Bellot in 1912. There had been an abbey here since 1132, but it was destroyed by Henry VIII in his dissolution of the monasteries.
