Glenda is one of the runners in our Run Timaru Club whom I coach. Glenda has only been running for 2 years now and every race she competed in was always an improvement on the last. This year Glenda has run I think 6 1/2 Marathons and countless 10ks and most of our club runs. Glenda who is 64 has improved her 1/2 Marathon Time from 2:30 to 2:15 that is an impressive PB (Personal Best). At our Prize Giving this afternoon Glenda was awarded the Bob Cunningham Memorial Trophy for dedication and commitment, a very well deserved award. This morning Glenda and I went out for a 12.7km training run, the farthest I have run since my Back injury in January. The pace was pushed along a bit too by the way and we did it in under 1:30. We have had a major storm here in Timaru and surrounding areas, considerable damage with Cell cover and internet cover out for over 12 hours and has only just been restored. The South Island of New Zealand was cut off with no access North or South.
