Amazing

Today we took Hayden to get weighed. He was born 15 weeks early and weighed just 1lb 10oz. One of the consequences of his prematurity is a more complex assessment of his growth and development, which are observed and compared to his 'corrected age'. This means that despite being 18 months old he is considered 14 months when plotting his progress on charts.

Since his shaky start in life his progress has been amazing and even more remarkable over the past week. Hayden has started to walk, has been signed off by the physiotherapist and today, at 14 months old 'corrected', weighed in at 20lb 15oz. All the more remarkable considering he is 1oz heavier than his older brother weighed at 14 months and 3 weeks. He continues to amaze us daily.
