Back in London

Back blipped on 8th December

When we visited London a few weeks ago to buy a flute, we also went to an early evening concert at The Wigmore Hall.  We enjoyed it so much that we booked two more Saturday trips - one for December, and another in January.

So today we were back at The Wigmore Hall.  There were two concerts, a short one at 5.30, and a normal evening one at 7.30.

This was our view from the seats for the earlier concert.  An interesting selection of music, concentrating on flute and harp, including three lovely pieces for 2 harps.  Also, three short pieces by Schumann that were originally written for oboe, but sounded lovely played on the flute, and I felt might be within my competence, once I can start playing the flute again after this little hiccup.  I've found them on the web, and downloaded them already!

The later concert included some songs by Beethoven, and also some by Schubert.  Again, an interesting and varied selection of music.  We thoroughly enjoyed both concerts.

We safely negotiated our various trips on the underground without any more mishaps, and caught the 2230 train home to Norwich.
