Gales, Sun and Rain

What a mix of weather we've had today! The overriding common factor though was the gale-force wind, moaning and gusting all day and night. In its wake we had bright sunshine alternating with deluging rain. Most sunny intervals were not long enough to go for a walk without getting drenched, but shortly before sunset it was dry enough that I drove down to the beach at Blackpool Sands. To the west the sun was getting low in the sky and sparkling off the sea; to the east the waves were whooshing over the rocks and stirring the fish to the surface, judging by the way gulls were circling near the surface.

Torn which of these two photos to blip, but chose the more interesting composition. See if you can spot four gulls in my Extra - most are well camouflaged.
