Christmas Cactus

The weather has been so awful today ...... so no way I was taking the dogs out this morning so I went in the front door and opened the back door to let the dogs into the garden. Mia went straight out and watered the lawn while Poppy went into her bed. The only way I could get Poppy out for a wee was a bit of bribery with a small doggie treat ..... success, phew!

This magnificent Christmas cactus is flowering in Moira's porch. For about eleven months of the year the plant looks shrivelled and almost dead and then for a few weeks it is covered with vibrant pink flowers.
