Snowing.....

Geese!!!!   Thousands of snowgeese taking off in flight was a sight to make one's heart soar!!!   My friend and I took off on a ride and were rewarded with several snowgeese sightings, a couple immature Bald eagles, an adult Bald, and several hawks.  We had a delicious lunch the in the quaint artist town of La Conner along the river.  A backroads drive home was lovely until the downpour began.....and getting back onto the I-5 corridor meant getting gobsmacked by traffic big time.  Now they are saying a couple full weeks of rain storms.  We are behind in rainfall unlike parts of California....so I guess they sent us their rains:)
Below is some info on the snowgeese....
"They spend the colder seasons in southern coastal marshes, bays, wet grasslands, and fields. Their diet is entirely vegetarian, consisting of grasses and grains, grazed from damp soils or even shallow water. At winter's end, snow geese fly north to their breeding grounds on the Arctic tundra."
