It's Good To Talk

... and see. 

I only took this because it was funny and then decided to blip it... my work has a once a month team meeting with offices in Edinburgh, London and India over video. Recently the systems were upgraded so we could stream video while working from home or from your phone wherever you are. Then they got these fancy meeting rooms with displays in the middle and a 360 degree camera that can identify who is speaking and zoom in on them. It's a bit disconcerting especially when a cough is enough for you to appear on the screen!

In this photo you see the 4 people in our room on the right and the London team room on the left. When they arrived in their office, although we could see them, they had no display so we watched them fiddle with their displays and dial-in details for about 5 minutes  before they could see us.

Aye, it's good when it works... but it's never the same as when everybody is in the same room.
