Ambleteuse and fort Mahon

Well the wind stopped blowing and it felt a bit warmer. We pointed the car towards Calais and the coast. We thought we would stop and have a coffee at the small seaside town of Ambleteuse but like a lot of little seaside towns in winter it seemed to be closed. We went down to the promenade to see a rather rough sea and the little fort Mahon built by the famous French, military engineer Vaubant in the late 1600s. It was surrounded by water but still going strong.
Back in London now for voting a bit later on today and to get our Christmas tree. Going to an election party/wake tonight.
