Canal Side

We are very lucky here in Stroud as the canal that winds it’s way around the edge of the town is slowly being restored by a group of volunteers. This section is about 5 minutes walk down the hill from my home and I often walk along it with Bertie, heading this way goes deeper into the countryside and from there I cross one of the footbridges and climb the hill opposite to the National Trust common land. If you walk in the opposite direction you can go to Waitrose and get a free coffee!!

The little bridge in the photo is one of the original historic canal bridges and were, mostly put in to allow workers to cross the canal to get to the different mill buildings that sit alongside the canal.
