Sugar Coated

With temperatures dropping again, light snow overnight left a dusting on the pond ice. It's beginning to feel like winter is setting in. Nevertheless, bright sun around midday and tempted me out. Following a fairly low trajectory across the sky, it cast long shadows over the frozen surface. Picking out a few sunlit branches in the dappled light made for a focal point in the image.

I like the mix of diagonal shadow lines and vertical trees in contrast to the pile of twisted branches.
