Granny’s diary 1942

Wet, wet, wet again! A good day for sorting out papers and family history stuff.

This is part of my Granny’s diary from early1942. She was a farmer’s wife with five of a family. This particular excerpt is quite interesting because the Bomb Disposal Service had been called to disarm and remove unexploded bombs which had landed near the farm.

Andrew stayed overnight after his work’s office party. Chloe enjoyed having him here and he got no peace!

Over seeing Joyce this afternoon. She is all ready for Christmas and has all her decorations up. At 91 , I really admire her enthusiasm!

Off to watch Strictly now!
