A riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma

I spent the afternoon with two friends from the Heritage group at the old church in Kirktown of Deskford.

It's fascinating, and perplexing! Architectural features that don't fit, structures that don't align, contradicting clues to its chronology... It's going to keep us puzzling for a long  time.
