Aust Ferry terminal - finally demolished

A visit to the old Aust Ferry Terminal, formerly the English terminal of the Severn crossing, which was finally knocked down in the last few weeks, leaving the rusty turnstiles.

Before this I had tested the turnstiles on a number of occasions and they still worked!

I think the idea is to make the old slipway a bit more accessible. Whether  or not this is a good thing, I don't know, but you can also now more easily make a comparison with they way things were when Bob Dylan paid a visit in 1966 when the Severn Bridge was about to be opened, and the ferry closed.

The famous picture is captioned in an interpretation board nearby. It features in the Martin Scorsese film about Dylan, but you can find out more about this episode in this short three minute video.
