With so many free range fledglings in my garden it’s not unusual for one to venture inside the house. Usually it’s a blackbird or a thrush, but today it was a waxeye. She took the open front door as an invitation and came in. Here she sits on the back of the sofa expecting to be fed. I was amazed at her complete lack of fear. When I took her outside and placed her in the tree beside the sugar water she flew back at me and settled on my shoulder. Eventually she fluttered off. I hope her parents caught up with her.

She looks extra sweet fullscreen.
