JUST HAVING FUN....

... heard the call of this Red-Whiskered Bulbul this morning, and on checking there were about six of them out having fun. This guy/lady was busy jumping around as it sang, while the others watched on. 
Although they are quite aggressive to other birds they do have a nice sound  - have a listen to their chatter on Birds in Backyards down on the RHS. They are introduced variety to Australia from China in the early 1900.

Enjoy and have a look in  and although today was quite cool (around 28degC) watch out for Thursday predicted 44 degC... mmmm!

With the calmer conditions the fire fighters have been busy back burning and using the planes to dump water and retardant in an attempt to get some control!
