A dead umbrella

The rain continues...............unabated.

Since the family is in Australia and I am guessing, the farm road, must be pretty close to impassable, there was no farming, today.  Yah !

I fantasized, that I would enjoy the day off.  Reading, writing - HAPPY HAPPY.

But, Mom needed to go banking.  The banking, was to pick up, her new credit card.

Yes, this is the third, replacement credit card this year.

The first, was when she was hijacked and EVERYTHING was taken.
The second, she had a senior moment and "lost" it, but didn't really.

The third..........

She received a phone call, last Monday, from someone who said they were from the bank.  He had phoned, because there had been suspicious activity on the account, via the internet.  He asked her a whole lot of questions, to verify, she was who she was, among them, the three digits on the back of the card.  Which, she gave him.......

Thank god, nothing was taken.

Maybe they tried, but since she has the credit limit, set at a tiny amount, maybe they ended up, disappointed.  Who knows..........

But,  it was prudent to cancel the card.

She did this, with the help of Barbara, last Tuesday.

Now, the replacement card, was at the bank, ready for collection - so she asked me to take her.

I don't actually think, getting the card was her big priority.  She wanted to go "shopping".

Specifically, she wanted to go to the Checkers at the mall, because, she's dreaming of a turkey for Christmas.  And this was, where she got it last year, around this time.

We got the card.  We didn't get the turkey - there weren't any.

The blip, was the scene, we encountered, as I reversed down the drive.  Obviously the umbrella, gave up the ghost, this morning - whoever it belonged to,  must have just thrown it down, in disgust.

When we got home............... we were being load shedded, AGAIN !

This delayed lunch etc.   So, my HAPPY HAPPY day, never materialized.  I pretty much had no ME TIME.

Before I left for home.......... I did blip the day lilies, who were having a belated moment of glory.  See the extra.
