dumbing down?

my after school activity today was model making. only 2 people signed up - guess that sticking bits of plastic together no longer has the appeal that it used to have.
one of the boys brought a star war's model , which was pre-painted and could be pushed together - no glue required ..... instant model = instant gratification.
anyway i learnt that r2d2's enemy was r3s6 and that c3po had a girlfriend, but he couldn't remember her number. i said it was a problem that i used to have before i was married - he didn't understand!
