A successful blind date

Siobhan's face lights up when Diarmuid tells her that they are going to see La Boheme in Dolby Stereo Surround in Savoy 1, broadcast live from the Royal Opera House.
She could not help but feel wary of another blind date organised by her cousin Mary.
It has taken her a while to put behind her the magical mystery tour organised by Damo from accounts: a pair of tickets bought on Groupon for a cage fighting evening in Tallaght.
This Diarmuid guy seems much jollier. Less threatening. She wouldn't have thought him the opera type though. How intuitive of him. And romantic. La Boheme. Her favourite opera of all times. If Diarmuid Rodolpho plays his cards right, she could become his Mimi tonight (without the tuberculosis, obviously).

Diarmuid has a good feeling about tonight's date. He had to improvise on the spot when Siobhan demanded to know the venue for their first date in advance. Could she be a touch paranoid perhaps?
Always the quick-thinker, he had said the Savoy, 7 pm.
Diarmuid knows that there is no quicker way to a girl's heart than by making her laugh. He can't wait to see the surprise and playful amusement on her face when he hands the pair of tickets to Texas Chainsaw (3D) to the ticket guy.

It's going to be ok. They'll get along.

It's taken him a while to recover from the last first date, when the home economics teacher who works in his sister's school almost got physically sick at the David McSavage comedy show...
Siobhan seems to be much more able to take a joke. It's going to be a laugh. It's going to be fine.
It's a well know fact that horror films make girls feel like being held in a strong pair of reassuringly manly arms.
It's going to be fine.
A laugh, a fright and a cuddle. More even, if there is a chemistry...
