Still working with acrylics.

I've been taking an online course with an artist whose videos i've been watching for a while now.   Pamela Caughey offered one of her acrylic medium courses at 1/2 price....how could i resist!   so i've been watching the first couple of videos...all about just playing and laying down marks, shapes ... colours etc., what she calls the Ugly stage.  and it is fun!  I've never been a big fan of acrylics but i'm starting to like the fact that they dry so fast!  we'll see, she has suggested that i will be able to transfer these techniques onto cold wax and oil, which she also does.

It's been weird weather here over the past few days....went up to plus 11 the other day and then dipped way down now to -6C.....i basically stayed home yesterday, and painted and read....oh and had a wee nap!   but today i really felt the need to get for a walk!  it was a bit painful to be sure, but it did feel good to move!   Winter is such a tricky time of year for me, and a lot of folks....i hate being cold, but i love having the quiet and lack of business!
