Re-emergence

During these cold dark months there are times when it is difficult without help to arise from the cocoon of a warm deep bed and throw back the curtains to wash the shadows of depression from a room.

Whether bullied by duty, cajoled by friends or, if we have some small curiosity about the day ahead, we eventually leave this cocoon and stagger into the cold machinations of life; and attempt to get on with it.

I've recently experienced that help with "re-emerging" can come from the most unexpected vectors and from distances I would never have imagined.
