Red Cabbage (first of 3 ways)

I’m competing with multi-talented fellow blipper ‘Crispin’, and his ingenious ‘Ginger 3 Ways’ (which was influenced by MasterChef)

Rather silly really, as my red cabbage won’t grace top tables. But here is the second of 3 of my culinary delights. Now slowly cooking for a couple more hours. I made the first earlier, a red cabbage, carrot and red pepper slaw - made with lemon juice and a sprinkle of brown sugar. No. 3 will be a wedge of red cabbage roasted with carraway seeds (to be added when Mr B does his Xmas Day roast vegetables).

It’ll be a challenge to eat it all, as my darling husband won’t touch any of the red cabbage. So some will be frozen.

Although I enjoy watching MasterChef, and some of the chefs are so skilled and innovative - we both prefer a good, honest, plate of of home-cooked food. No silly flourishes of foam, soil, pansies on tiny cut up bits of food - dotted around. For me nothing beats a hearty dish of cannellini beans, drizzled with unfiltered olive oil, served with a thick slice of sourdough.

More yellow rain warnings. It looks horrid out. This is getting far too repetitive. Improves (apparently) from Monday.

Enjoy your weekends - and especially those of you who may be affected by the weather (here and in Oz).

Thanks Admirer for today’s Silly Saturday challenge.
