Diary of an Edinburgher

Visiting

Another bright sunny day, and Elizabeth took Archie out for the day as usual. A friend came for festive bubbles in the afternoon (non-alcoholic this time). Her son, Leo, came along too. I used to look after him when he was a toddler, and he wore me out. He's a big lad now, and I know exactly what he wants, and it usually takes about three minutes for him to mention it... my iPad. I have an excellent puzzle game on it that he works on each time he comes, which is great. In the past he's given up, as it's quite hard, but today he didn’t give up, and he finished it.

When Elizabeth brought Archie back, and the visitors departed, we got him fed and settled with his yummy bone to chew, for he was staying at home while we popped out. He's fine with this arrangement.

We visited an older neighbour, Mary. And we had a nice NZ wine, and yummy sandwiches. Mary's flat is fantastic - all glittery, mirrory and Christmas lights. Wonderful. We had a great time - she regaled us with tales of her eventful life, and we were in stitches at many of the tales when she ran a B&B. What a hoot she was! We've made a date for her to come to us.

We're keeping up the hectic schedule with more visitors tomorrow...

These are part of our mantlepiece decorations.
