Detours

We had to take a big detour to get to church this morning as the road we normally use was flooded. It was a lovely drive though!

On the way back we arrived at a closed level crossing and two trains went through. Then we sat there for another 10 minutes and there were no other trains, but the gates didn't open. I decided to take a photo of this rather lovely flint house and shepherds hut which I was admiring while we sat there. Lots of the long queue of cars started turning around and eventually we did too and took an even longer route home! (I'm guessing the controls for the gate may have become inundated with water). At least we do have a few alternative routes that we can use, so we are fortunate.
