Hedderwick Sands at high tide

This a sight I rarely see although I pass by this area at least once a week walking the dogs. Normally what I will see is a sandy beach with the meanders of Hedderwick Burn gradually making their way out to sea. Beyond the headland that you can see on the left the river Tyne flows out to sea so it is impossible to walk right across to Tyne Sands on the other side as it is much too deep. The wooden bridge ( far left) traverses Hedderwick Burn. High tide in this area only lasts about an hour so it is quite rare that the beach is covered.
