Winter solstice.

8.07am, sunrise on the shortest day of the year, the time of the year when many ancient peoples celebrate new beginnings.

Immediately after taking this photo I was treated to a beautiful sight, a skein of geese flew, honking and clattering, overhead. This is not a particularly common sight or sound where I live.

A bit more wrapping then occurred before collecting RF and attending my family's pre Christmas tradition of getting together for lunch in the pub.

This evening I have completed my Christmas wrapping then tidied up the lounge to rediscover the floor and sofa.
