In lieu of a bullfinch.

You've not been blipping birds have you CC??

A, necessary, trip to Hexham. First contender was another magnificent dawn, shot in the rear-view mirror as we tootled up the M6 towards Carlisle.

Got to Hexham 15 mins earlier than the 20 mins they asked for. I never understand why. They say it's in order to service the CPAP©, whereas they never take it off us until appointment time anyway.
:¬((
("CPAP may stand for: Continuous positive airway pressure". WHAT??? Don't they know?)

Did a shot or two in and around, there's a frieze at chest height composed of tiny footprints in cement.

Couldn't be harassed to plod around Waitrose© on spec so we took our time back to Brockbush's Farm shop and eatery, full English for the partaking of.

It's worth a visit and cuppa just for the birds:- The 3 commonest Tits, Collared dove, Cushat, virtually knee-deep in Chaffinches, a couple of none- combatant Robins, ditto male Blackbirds, a handfull of Greenfinches, etc. Did not see the usually ubiquitous pheasant, or the "French Partridge(?)" we were told about.

Did you know Nuthatches are telepathic? Fit a long lens and they're in and out faster than yer average fiddler's elbow, with maybe a microsecond's pause @ the food. Swap back to every day lens and GUESS WHAT??? I had to crop the photo to about 1/10 for the pesky thing to be recognisable.

The title? Oh, the frozen twig is in lieu of the used-to-be Bullfinch.
