Nearly there now

After yesterday's dinner for 15 people, today was a much quieter occasion.

I went to the local supermarket along with a large number of other grocery hunters and duly took my turn politely avoiding their trolleys whilst trying to ensure that I got everything on the list that we need for the next few days.  Although this might seem like hell, everyone is on the best behaviour and as a result the entire chore is considerably less stressful than would otherwise be the case.  I wouldn't want to have to go back and do it all again tomorrow though ....

We've watched the first two episodes of A Christmas Carol on the BBC.  They said that this new version was going to be dark and they really weren't under egging that one bit.  I'm not quite sure its the Dickensian festive treat that we were quite hoping for from the Beeb, there's a lot of ground to make up in the last episode if they are going to redeem things.
