Declaration of Christmas Peace

On the red balcony of Brikkala house in Turku, an communal officer reads the declaration as has been made annually for 800 years, with only a few interruptions.

Turku was the former capital of Finland, until the Russian Czar wanted Helsinki to be the capital due to the shorter travel from St. Petersburg.
