Snow and sun

It’s a sunny day. At last. Claire has swapped to skis. The plan is to head across the three valleys to the Signal area.

We’re on the slopes as the lifts open, but the two that cross to Méribel are closed due to technical reasons. So, we head for Les Menuires and cross there. We’re not the only ones and end up in several stupid queues as we cross to Méribel and then Courcheval.

There are some great runs, but several step, icy descents into the villages. We lunch on the slopes and, finally, get to Signal. There’s not much time before we have to start the journey back .. and we don’t find the run that we were looking for.

Somewhere above Méribel, Angus and I get separated from Claire and Megan. We take the direct route home over Cote Brune, while they return via Les Menuires, Megan suffering with a bad leg.

A long sauna for me and Angus, and a much shorter one for Claire and Megan. A meal out at La P’tite Ferme is fun, although there’s nothing special about the food. And then an early night for all.
